ISO39001 Road traffic safety (RTS) management systems

Security refers to the absence of threats, dangers, hazards, or losses, and the demand for safety is the fundamental requirement of human society, second only to physiological needs. With the development of the economy, there are more and more road facilities and equipment, and the level of human society's road participation is increasing. The accompanying road traffic safety issues are also becoming more frequent and serious. On the basis of summarizing the experiences of many countries and organizations in improving road traffic safety, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) released ISO 39001:2012 "Road Traffic Safety Management Systems - Requirements and Guidelines for Use" in October 2012.

With the continuous deepening of reform and opening up, the scale of road traffic in China has developed rapidly, but the management of road traffic safety in the whole society is relatively backward, and the situation of road traffic safety is severe. The government and various business organizations are increasingly feeling the urgent need to strengthen the construction of road traffic safety management systems, enhance road traffic safety awareness, improve the safety performance of road traffic safety facilities (equipment), regulate the behavior of road traffic participants, and improve road traffic accident rescue systems, in order to effectively prevent road traffic safety accidents and reduce the harm of accidents to human health.

The ISO 39001 Road Traffic Safety Management System involves various organizations related to road traffic safety, such as road traffic regulatory agencies, road facility planning and design units, passenger transport companies, freight companies, etc. Conducting ISO 39001 certification is not only a test of the construction of an organization's road safety management system, but also a necessity to promote related work of the organization. It is of great significance for improving the organization's management level and social reputation.
